Our Services

Resilient Design

GRIT offers landscape design services that consider your natural setting including elevation, aspect, moisture, light, and soil type to create a plan that is tailored to the natural surroundings. Ultimately, this creates a more low-maintenance landscape that will thrive here in southwest Colorado.

Native and Well-suited Plant Installation

Selecting appropriate plants for the environment where you live, means they will be healthier and more tolerant to occasional drought conditions. These installations use less water, which is important for the environment, farmers downstream, and your bank account.

Building Soil Health

Why is soil health important? The soil is an ecosystem, and when in a healthy state, the organisms living in the soil will have plenty of food to eat. In turn, their waste products become usable nutrients for plants. Healthy soil builds organic matter naturally, which increases nutrient and water holding capacity. Healthy soil means less fertilizer requirements, less water usage and a natural shield against pests and diseases.

Maintenance

Garden and landscape maintenance with GRIT is thoughtful, meticulous, and efficient.  We focus on clean lines, and consistent weeding and dead-heading to keep your gardens looking vibrant, healthy, and orderly.  While our focus is not lawn maintenance, your lawn goals are important to us. We use non-synthetic, slow-release fertilizers and alternative methods for weed suppression. At GRIT we believe in biodiversity in the greater landscape and in our yards, thus we do not recommend monoculture lawns. Talk to us about alternatives!

High-Altitude Vegetable Gardens

Growing food at high altitudes can seem difficult at first, but a garden can thrive here with the right seed selection and gardening techniques. We offer vegetable and herb garden installation and maintenance as well as handmade cedar raised beds installed with your selection of vegetables and herbs suited to your environment.  From initial installation to ongoing maintenance, we help you cultivate a mountain garden that is both productive and beautifully integrated into your natural surroundings.
